Male+Female together we can change the world

Did you know that on average, full-time working women earn just 77 cents for every dollar a man earns? The unequal distribution of wealth, power, and privilege between men and women, that's gender stratification. Are men really 23 cents better than women? Me personally coming from a single parent household. My mom juggling being the mother and father of five children would disagree with that. I believe that some women work harder than men, the amount housework, raising kids and facing discouragement by men in the workforce. Under these circumstances we still see them rise above it all and make it to the high executive positions, but never the top. You will see why gender stratification plays a huge role in the workforce.

Sexism is the belief that one sex is superior to the other. It breaks off into two different forms matriarchy and patriarchy. Matriarchy is a organization in which is run by females and patriarchy is run by males. We mainly see patriarchy in today's society, and that is how sexism is formed. Sexism limits the human population from reaching its full potential. Marilyn french argues that "patriarchy drives men to seek control, not only women but themselves and their world". I believe this to be true because the U.S are bullies with our elite military and I feel like we try to control the world at times by fighting in wars that aren't even our fights. Men are the ones leading these wars and calling the shots to go invade countries, this could have a negative impact in the long run.

Last but not least, I believe that gender stratification plays a huge role in our society, because of the unequal distribution of wealth, power and privilege between men and women. Nowadays we see women working "a second shift" because after work they come home and are in charge of cooking and numerous amount of other household choirs. They also get jobs like dental assistant or secretary never reaching the highest CEO position or dentist. Some consider them to be a minority because even though they graduated college and are trying to go for the top spot they face discrimination. Men seem to think that they simple aren't smart enough or too emotional to work in high positions. That is why women are discriminated against in the workforce, and how gender stratification plays a role in it. If we simply hire more women for these high rank positions we will be fully utilize our potential as a human race, because who knows maybe a female president is the answer to our problems?
